Necropsy / Autopsy

In the unlikely event your falcon should die, we also offer an autopsy service in order to find out what happened to the falcon and the reason for death. Our post mortem section completes an in-depth examination of the entire falcon in general and vital organs in particular and reports any deviation from normal in the laboratory post mortem examination form.

The falcon is open in a specific way, the colour, size, texture, dimensions and the positional land marks of the organs are examined carefully and the presence of any foreign body is checked.  The result is supported with images and findings from the Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology sections.

A specialized necropsy centre (Mopec, USA) is used for performing our post mortem examination on the falcon. Standard post mortem examination is performed on routine basis. Samples are obtained for cytology, parasitology, bacteriology, mycology, and virology.
